Periphery V just dropped 4 days ago, and while it is an amazing album and it's great to see how Periphery have evolved throughout the years, I stand by that this album is their masterpierce. There's just this atmosphere to it, listening to Periphery II is a very cohesive experience and the entire album just feels... red. There's no better way to explain it. And while the songs are quite diverse, every single one of them has this "red" sound to it, no matter what. It's incredible, really. One time I saw someone describe the three last songs of this album as "three consecutive punches to the gut" (paraphrased) and honestly they were right. But this outro is something that's like, if someone punched you in the gut once, then kissed you, then punched you in the gut another two times. This outro has romance and... longing to it. Maybe it's foreshadowing to Mile Zero, since that one's about losing someone special to you? So many questions... Seriously, if you haven't yet listened to Periphery II, go do that right now. I promise you'll walk out of that experience with at least three new favorite songs (out of the fourteen songs the album has to offer, sixteen if it's a deluxe version).

What strikes me most is how all Misha, Jake and Mark are fantastic lead players yet we get to hear them solo so rarely. More of that please, guys - otherwise your band is stellar!
